Life without social media

Social media is a lot of sites. They are used to communicate and follow other people. They offer many options - publishing and commenting on photos, inserting posts, establishing conversations with other users. Social media allow you to keep up to date with what is happening with your friends, but also in the country or the world. Accounts on portals have not only private individuals, but also companies.

Nowadays social media have so come into use that it is difficult to imagine functioning without them. On the one hand, they are time eaters, but on the other hand they are the first source of information in many cases. For many people, it is on Facebook or Instagram that they look for news on various topics. On these portals they also check out brands that are still unknown. There's a reason why the saying "if you're not on Facebook, it means you don't exist" has stuck. Today, it is no longer necessarily Facebook alone that has such power, but social media as a whole.

By all means, you can run a business without social media. However, the effect of this will not be as good as it could be. There are a lot of potential customers on social media that are easy to reach. The portals also create an excellent opportunity to gather a community around the brand. Thus, even without paying for advertising, you can quickly inform customers about a promotion or a new product. The message reaches up to thousands of people in a few seconds.

Advertising is also not insignificant. The options available on social media platforms allow advertisers to create a well-specified target group. In turn, this allows advertising to actually reach people interested in a particular industry or similar products. The costs of such a campaign are incomparably lower than those of standard offline campaigns. It should also be noted that customers have more trust in companies present in social media, especially if a certain community is gathered around the brand. If a brand does not have an account on any social networks and it is difficult to find reliable reviews about it - suspicion increases.

What to do to make yourself known?

There are several ways to create a credible and interesting social media profile. The first and most important is high-quality content. Recipients focused on a particular brand want to learn more about it. In addition, such posts show the company as an expert in its field. This is important for the recipient - they know they are paying for knowledge and expertise, which means high quality.

Content should be published regularly. Providing fans with frequent posts shows that someone cares about the profile and the community gathered around it. Of course, the content should be of high quality - texts without spelling errors, correctly written, photos and videos clear. Here comes another topic concerning posts. It is worth diversifying the inserted publications. Not every post has to consist of text and photos or graphics. It is worth betting on video. It is a visually attractive form of message, eagerly watched by the audience. It allows you to convey a lot of information and catch the viewer's attention. And if they are interested in what they see, they are eager to stay so they don't miss future posts.

When looking for attractive topics for posts, it is worth paying attention to world events and responding to them accordingly. Real time marketing, i.e. using current situations to promote your brand, works well - provided it is used well. This is where timing and a timely enough response matter. A post uploaded tomorrow, when the web is boiling today, will be late and will not give a good result. Customer contact is also of great importance. Recipients often comment on posts, but not always about them. Sometimes they describe their problems or comments. They expect a response. It is not worth leaving these comments unanswered. Replying to customers' messages shows them that a company cares about their opinion, that someone is interested in their experience, wants to help and advise. What else to keep in mind? It's a good idea to keep up-to-date with brand information online. Customers often insert photos of products or talk about services, tagging the company. In this way, they encourage - or discourage - cooperation with the brand. It's worth responding to such content, and in contentious situations respond quickly, offering a satisfactory way to resolve the situation.

It doesn't matter on what, as long as they talk

Controversy "clicks" fairly well. Topics that arouse widespread discussion make a lot of noise about a brand that has raised such a topic. This certainly translates into increased reach. The company is talked about more and more often. However, such a large increase in interest is temporary. It passes fairly quickly, and the surge of fans or commenters, even if large, also soon returns to normal. However, a certain impression remains, and the controversial topic raised by the company also stays in the minds of fans, even though interest has already declined.

So is it worthwhile in the long run to rely on controversy? On the one hand, it's almost a guarantee of high reach, but it can turn out to be an image mistake. It's not at all about getting people to simply talk about the company. This will not necessarily help find new customers. Today, it is not just the product that matters, but also what the brand represents and the views of those responsible for the brand.

Life on social media

An influx of fans, more and more comments, more sales - these are the effects of well-run social media profiles. But how to keep the attention of the audience? First of all, plan further posts based on what has worked so far. It is worth continuing a well-received series of posts or a given topic. Continue to ensure variety. And the most important point is to keep in touch with fans, replying to their comments, responding to messages. This will allow you to build an active community that will recommend the most interesting posts to their friends, and this will allow you to extend your reach even further.

The popularity of social media is worth using to advertise your business. Here, however, an ordinary advertising message is not enough. Social media is a dialogue. Response to inserted publications. When deciding to insert a post, you need to expect a response. This has many advantages - first of all, feedback on the quality of the content. Social media has great potential, and by creating high-quality content you can easily increase the popularity of your brand and positively affect sales.
